8 months

Wow, where does the time go? I know all of us mothers are baffled by how fast our babies grow up. Our baby Max is 8 months old in 3 days.

Here are his stats:

He's still a total chunk, weighing in at 23 pounds 8 ounces- 97%, 28 1/2 inches long- 85% for height. He is healthy and developing right on schedule. I promised myself I wouldn't compare his development with other babies. I think it's easy to get caught up in comparing and wanting your kid to be advanced, i.e. walk and talk, etc. early. Max is slightly advanced in some areas, and taking his sweet time in other areas. Overall he's pretty average and that's ok with us!

It's amazing how strong his immune system is though, especially since I have been really sick 3 times since he was born. The kid has not been sick even once. Not even a sniffle.

I never realized how much I would love motherhood. Max has stolen my heart since the moment I laid eyes on him. He's such an easy going baby, and so fun to be around. We took him to see fireworks on the 4th of July, and were so worried he would be scared. We thought for sure he would cry. He laughed so hard every time they went off. It was the best surprise to hear giggles instead of cries. Holidays are the biggest perks to parenthood.

I truly understand the meaning of having joy in your posterity. Max brings sheer joy to our lives daily.
