Our first week in Big D

Warning, there are a lot of pictures in this post but our family is wanting to see our new place.

Me being cheesy. Welcome to our home!

Our first visitor. I wanted to keep him, but Dan said "no". When I asked him why, he said that I don't even feed him so what makes me think I would feed this gecko. He made a good point, so we let him go.

We are no Candice Olsen, (my favorite designer on HGTV), but here is our place so far, we still have some work to do.

Kitchen still needs some decorations.

I love all the windows, that's what made me fall in love with this place. You can't really tell from these pictures but there are windows in every room, including the bathroom and kitchen, something you just don't find too often in apartments. I have got to have my sunlight!

My husband is amazing, he helped me so much with painting, hanging stuff and lot of annoying questions like, does this look good here? We love our new apt, it really feels like a home to us with the walls painted and everything put together. Our first week in Texas has been busy with painting, unpacking, cleaning, watching So You Think You Can Dance finale and the Olympics, stressing about finding a new job, and exploring the very big city of Dallas.

Wow! Wow! Wow! I am so impressed. The colors on the walls are outstanding. You are an awesome designer Lindsey and Dan you aint too shabby a painter. Great Job you two. The house looks so put together and inviting. I know it was hard work but here you are a week later and made yourselves a beautiful home. Kudos! By the way Linds. I LOVE Candice Olsen too, she is my very favorite designer. She loves shiny and silver and she rocks. Love and miss you both.

Your apartment looks like it should be photographed in a magazine! Nice decorating style! K, so if I ever make it to your area of Texas, I think bringing Avery is a no go...I'd be afraid she would break things and mess it all up:)
P.S. We didn't erase your name off our blog purposely. For some reason, yours is the only one we can't hook up to that blog updating thing that we have now. Justin tried it like six times yesterday and it wouldn't link to your blog, so for now I have to find yours through other family members...but we still LOVE YA LOTS!

Your apartment is so cute! That is awesome that they let you paint. It makes a difference having a little bit of color on the walls. Glad the move went well. Have fun in TX! We sure do miss you here in the ward!

Linds, you absolutely incredible! I love it. I wish my place loved like this. I've decided to not even try until we have a place of our own. I guess I'm just to lazy to paint someone elses place :) I hope you have some wonderful adventures in Texas!

Oh my heck Lindsay! How long have you been there? You are a fast! It looks like you have everything squared away. I love the way your apt. looks! And Candace Olsen is one of my favs too! I watch Divine Design all the time. Well... It looks nice. I remember when my house always looked nice, that was before I had my little mess maker Gavin! But I am teaching him. His new favorite toy, is his Mini Dirt Devil. He loves to clean with me. But he makes a mess faster, so it's hard. How fun!!!

hey linds. my blog is actually kinda custom. if you want, I can send you instructions so you can do it to your blog as well. I just get the backgrounds from photobucket, then cut and paste a bunch of places. it's a little involved at first but easy to change once it's all set...just let me know what your email is and i'll send them your way!
