A new chapter...

So after 5 long years at the Red Cross I finally got the guts to quit. It was a little bitter sweet, especially bitter when my new pay check comes around, but very worth it. I now have weekends and nights off! It's amazing to be off of work when it's still light outside. So I am now working at a doctors office pretty much doing everything that a nurse does. I get to give shots, EKG's, nerve conduction studies and draw blood...at least the day never gets boring! The worst is trying to give little kids and babies shots. I am almost worse than the moms are, I cried the first time I gave a baby a shot. It was so sad, she came in all happy and smiling at me, and then I had to hold her little legs down and she didn't know what was about to come. I almost couldn't do it, and after I gave her the shot I couldn't hold back the tears, it was so embarrassing, I almost cried more than the babies mom did! SO now I usually pass that job off to the others.

Glad you finally have a life! Hope the new job makes you happy. I would cry as well if I had to give babies shots. :(

Good work on finding a new job to get your life back! Sorry about the tears though, that is sad and I think I would cry more if I was giving them and not just helping to hold them down.
